simple holiday decor
There is nothing quite like the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree during the holiday season ~ it is my absolute favorite. When we were living in a tiny apartment in Cali, and only had space for a tiny faux tree you better believe I was burning a fir scented candle! And we’ve got you covered in the candle department if faux is more your thing!
A few images we’re drawing inspiration from!
I love mixing in home-made ornaments or decor. Making your own garland or dried citrus garlands just involves a few simple tools! You’ll need some floral wire, wire cutters, and greens. I like to lie mine out on the floor first, then start wrapping wire around the branches.
For citrus garlands, preheat the oven to 200deg. Thinly slice citrus of your choosing, roughly 1/8” thick. Arrange the slices on a paper towel and gently press out any juices. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange them in a single, even layer. You don’t want any overlapping because then they won’t dehydrate evenly. Bake for 4 hours, flipping half way through! Using a toothpick, carefully create a small hole for your string. I like using twine!
